 Will Barras 08/06/1973 United Kingdom Will explores movement. His work revolves around the deformation of a figurative image, creating a new form that renders speed and movement.
None of his work is static. That’s why this Londoner paints sport with predilection. All sports, with a good dose of English irony. From basketball to mechanical sports, but even darts or a walk with a dog that turns into a fax machine, just to show our dependency on our electronic pets.
For Will, it’s just a small step from sports to a journey. In each of his canvases, the journey is omnipresent; the continual search for a place to arrive; an exploration of progression at each step, with each of his studies.
Always on the lookout for a new brushstroke that will take him to a place of discovery yet to exist the streak that catches up with him is none other than his signature, which renders its speed with grace…
Even when he explores new supports like drum heads, or uses very large formats, the shapes of his figures seem to emerge from deep within his being with so much power and intensity that nothing seems capable of altering a stroke.

For all of those who didn’t have the chance to be in Berlin - Germany for the new Oakley Art Collaboration work with artist C100 last July 2nd, Spacejunk got a little report for YOU!
As Spacejunk artist Will Barras done an art collabs with Oakley in 08, Spacejunk was ask to bring some original artworks from the really talented UK artists!
