Long before Nicolas Thomas ever picked up a paintbrush, he was riding a skateboard.
So his art naturally made its way into snowboards - decorating boards mostly for the brand A Snowboards, today, APO - before reaching out to new materials and techniques whith which he crafts the minutery and abundantly detailed work he is know for today.
The ubiquitous use of fine lines in his paintings, which Nicolas acquired while studying industrial design, gives his figures a fragmented look, as if trapped within an imaginary world...
His use of vivid color, numerous materials (canvas, wood, wallpaper) and various techniques (scratching, acrylic, spray paint, markers, etc...), have made Nicolas Thomas a reference on the boardriding artistic circuit.
